The Christmas Story Inviting God To Reveal A Fresh Perspective.

Same old story?

The Christmas Story Inviting God To Reveal A Fresh Perspective.

Most of us have read or heard the Christmas story. Even if your only clear memory is Linus Van Pelt clearing up the reason for the season for his dear friend Charlie Brown. I have read and heard it more times than I can count. Many different translations, I’ve watched plays and movies and sang all the songs. I love this story and yet I’m all too aware of the danger of glossing over the details, downplaying the miracle of it all. In the same breath, I’m very aware of my soul need to allow it to penetrate my heart.

Today’s episode is simple. I’m slowing down and reading it to you, touching on the prophecy written some 700 years before the events. My words aren’t very many, my hope is that God’s Words stick in your heart and mind. While you are wrapping or cooking or cleaning or driving take a moment to be reminded of “The Christmas Story”. Why it matters today and how God can meet you right where you are!

And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Luke 1:28-33

In the midst of your holiday rush I invite you to join me, in asking God to reveal something fresh and new to you. Something you never really thought of before, or maybe just something you desperately needed to hear today. Resist the urge to rush through, and let the Holy Spirit guide your understanding and learning!

What’s up Next?
