How did God bring me to interview Tammy
I had never heard her story and recently when I was praying for God to show me who He wanted me to interview for my love and marriage series.
I traveled to Tennessee to buy our car and visit family, my hubby met me a few days later. Steve (a family friend) and his family recently moved to Tennessee. My hubby’s flight happened to come in at the same time as Steve’s Mom who was visiting and he asked me if I could pick her up too.
I had never even met her before. She climbed in the car and we immediately started chatting. She began sharing her story of the reconciliation of her marriage!
As she went over all of the details, I immediately know she was God’s answer to who my next interview was!
Prayer changes things
Tammy prayed for reconciliation after her and her husband divorced. This story has a hope filled miraculous ending, yet there was many days of walking hand and hand with Jesus through the miry clay. It wasn’t easy, and it doesn’t mean the prospect of being reconciled didn’t look impossible for the bulk of their years apart. But God did answer her prayers.
She doesn’t want you to think she was the picture of perfection. There were days she was frustrated and tired of waiting. Days she wasn’t the kindest to her husband and didn’t want to be the one who made the effort.
Her prayer life for her marriage to be healed was a journey in and of itself. God did a lot in her own heart over the years as well as her husbands. 32 years is a long time, but God is faithful.
Most importantly they aren’t done praying. It’s important to understand wether your marriage is the picture of perfection or it’s been dead for a long time, praying daily for your marriage is essential.
Praying with your spouse daily is one of the most important tools in your marriage arsenal.
When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion,We were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations,“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad. Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,Bearing seed for sowing,Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,Bringing his sheaves with him.
This scripture brought her hope as she waited on the Lord to be reconciled after 32 years divorced from her husband.
She was very clear that they are moving forward and not looking back and pointing fingers. She encourages others to find people to do life with who believe that God is a God of miracles!
