Yes, this Podcast is called Real House Wives of the Kingdom, why is there a man as a guest?
If you are new here you may be wondering what the heck this Podcast is all about. Usually, I interview real women who are walking with Jesus. We find out how God is meeting them in the middle of their lives in tangible ways. In hopes you will feel less alone!
At least once a year I have my hubby Kevin on as a special guest. We are both passionate about encouraging marriages. Which is why we love letting you all in on a little chat between the two of us. We start celebrating 21 years of marriage one week from today, (September 8 2023).
European Adventures and brushes with death
We spent two glorious weeks exploring Europe we called it our “Motherland Tour”. I turned 40, (Hear more about my thoughts on that here). My hubby turned 50, and we also wanted our 20 years of marriage celebration to go out with a bang!
We visited Ireland and Scotland for my hubby’s heritage. My hubby is a redhead and we found more redheads then we have ever seen! Germany and the Netherlands for my heritage, where people automatically assumed I was a local. To finish off the trip, our favorite city in the world, Paris! We honeymooned there, went back for our 10 year and just made it under the wire for 20!
We always hope to get there more often but it seems we go every 10 years. It never disappoints!
We averaged 15 miles a day walking, we ate incredible food had incredible drinks. Soaking in precious time and conversations with each other hand in hand. Heading into 21 years of marriage
Every year of marriage we always reflect. What was good, what was hard and where we are hoping to become better. In this Episode we are letting you into the conversation. Spoiler alert, we still LOVE our marriage! We are so grateful for these precious years the Lord has Blessed us with.
The main things we came away with were:
- The necessity to stay humble with each other
- Extend more grace
- The fact that there is always something God can teach us about marriage.
If you keep these perspective and your priorities in check (God-Spouse-Kids-Friends/Family-Ministry/Career) it will be much more joyful, we assure you!
